They always looked back before turning the corner, for their mother was always at the window to nod and smile, and wave her hand to them. Somehow it seemed as if they couldn't have got through the day without that, for whatever their mood might be, the last glimpse of that motherly face was sure to affect them like sunshine.

When I see humility, kindness and patience I'll think of Mum and know her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren

I will treasure the memories of having coffee and biscuits together while sharing Gardeners World magazines and the love of garden birds. We had many talks about places to visit while travelling around the UK and you will be in my heart on our trip to Scotland this spring. Your family gave you such pride and joy it was always a pleasure to hear you talk about them. I am very privileged to have known your welcoming hug and smile, and they will stay with me always.
